Founded in 1952, it was formerly known as the Third Branch of Shandong Rubber Factory. In 1956, it was renamed as the State owned Sixth Rubber Factory and was directly under the leadership of the Central Ministry of Light Industry. It has served as the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Rubber Hose and Tape Branch of the China Rubber Industry Association. The company has repeatedly won honorary titles such as China's Top Ten Conveyor Belt Enterprises, Shandong Province's Top 50 Rubber Industry Enterprises, and China's Top 100 Rubber Industry Enterprises. Its "Rubber Six" and "Head Horse" trademarks are well-known both domestically and internationally.

It is committed to researching and developing energy-saving, safe, and environmentally friendly high-end conveyor belt products. It is the first enterprise in China to develop tubular wire rope core conveyor belts, ultra wide (2250mm) fabric tubular conveyor belts, and MT668 standard steel wire conveyor belts.
In 2013, the company successfully developed energy-saving and consumption reducing aramid core conveyor belts, leading a new leap in the transformation of the conveyor belt industry's skeleton materials. The research and application of aramid conveyor belts for coal mines won the first prize of China Coal Industry Science and Technology Award. The company's production technology strength of ordinary steel wire rope core conveyor belts, MT668 standard flame-retardant steel wire rope core conveyor belts, high temperature and burn resistant series conveyor belts, aramid conveyor belts, lifting conveyor belts, edge blocking conveyor belts and other advantageous products is leading in the same industry in China, and it continuously upgrades according to customer needs to continuously improve product quality.

Qingdao Rubber Six was founded in 1952, formerly known as the state-owned Sixth Rubber Factory. It was renamed Qingdao Sixth Rubber Factory in 1996, Qingdao Rubber Six Group Co., Ltd. in 2001, and Qingdao Rubber Six Conveyor Belt Co., Ltd. was established in 2007, under the jurisdiction of China National Chemical Rubber Co., Ltd. It joined China National Chemical Corporation Limited in 2021.
